This is often around 15 minutes before the ceremony, depending on the venue. -She can perform the client’s song choices during the following moments: Bridal party entrance, Signing the register (2 or 3 songs), Bride and groom exit – Other moments for music can also be considered and discussed with Christine, i.e a reflection piece to remember loved ones or a separate song for bridesmaids – She does not provide accompaniment for hymns Religious and Non-legal Ceremonies – If your ceremony will exceed 1 hour additional fees will apply to cover the extra time. Song Requests for All Packages – Music can be selected from the playlist displayed at www.christineharp.co.uk/playlist. – For background music you can choose as many songs as you like or Christine can select a variety for you. – The songs in the sections marked with an * take extra time to prepare. Christine can include two of these songs but potentially more on request. – Songs choices will be communicated by the client one month before the wedding to ensure that they can be performed. New Harp Arrangements – As an optional extra Christine can learn new songs. – Christine can supply audio samples of your special arrangements. These are for personal use only and will be of an appropriate length and audio quality to give you a taste of how they will sound on the day. – Please check first if not being able to request a particular song would prevent you from booking just in case Christine is unable to play it. – Recordings may also be shared on social media. – Recordings will be delivered by one month before the wedding and require at least two month’s time to prepare and record. Maximum Package Times Christine’s services are designed to flow around a typical wedding schedule rather than strictly follow a timeline. The below timings allow enough time to cover most wedding days but if you need additional time then please enquire for a custom quote. The Drinks Reception – Christine will play for up to 1 hour 30 minutes from the start time. – She will pack down after 1 hour and 30 minutes or at the point when she needs to move through for the wedding breakfast. This depends on the distance between areas but will typically be 15 – 20 minutes before guests are scheduled to move through. Ceremony and Drinks Reception – Maximum time from performance start time to pack down: 2 hours 30 minutes The Wedding Breakfast – Up to 2 hours including a 15 minute break. If you are providing food then she will use this time to eat. – Christine will pack down and leave after the 2 hour period or when the meal is clearly coming to the end – i.e desserts are being cleared or toast drinks are being poured. She will exit before the speeches begin. Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast – Maximum time from performance start time to pack down: 5 hours Ceremony, Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast – Maximum time from performance start time to pack down: 5 hours Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast – Maximum time from performance start time to pack down: 4 hours In the case of delays Christine is not obliged to stay any longer but may do so at her discretion. If your reception is at a second venue then the second venue fee will cover the additional time to move between venues. Performance Requirements Christine needs to be able to get up close to the venue to unload her equipment and needs somewhere to park. She can carry her harp upstairs but any potential difficulties such as spiral staircases, narrow passage ways or long distances need to be discussed prior to booking.Please confirm the following:(Required) Close access to the venue will be possible for Christine to unload A free parking space is available Parking is not free but charges exceeding £8 will be paid for by the client Space(Required) There is enough space for Christine to play and the venue will be informed that a harpist is performing Christine needs approx. 1×2 metres of space to play in. The venue needs to be informed that a harpist is coming and the client should ensure there will be enough space for a harpist in the room plan after taking into account guest numbers and other items i.e wedding cake, gift table, ‘Love’ lights.Outdoor Performance Requirements Christine is more than happy to play outside when the conditions are right but she may decide at her discretion to stay indoors when the weather isn’t suitable. In this situation no part of the fee is refundable. Rain – She will need to be 100% confident that there won’t be any rain. Wind – She cannot play outdoors in strong winds. Moderate winds can cause the strings of the harp to drone. Sun – If it is sunny she will need shade. Direct sunlight is damaging to the harp. Cold – She cannot play outside in the cold. Christine will try to be as accommodating as possible without risking damage to her instrument. This can include playing near a doorway with her amp outside. Are you planning for any part of your wedding to be outdoors?(Required) Ceremony (Christine is not always able to take bookings for outdoor ceremonies. Please discuss before filling in the form) Drinks reception All indoor I understand that Christine will not be able to play outdoors unless she is 100% certain her harp will stay dry. I have read her requirements and will ask the venue not to pressure her into playing outdoors.(Required) Yes Outdoor performance comments I.e location, will shade/shelter will be available? Payment A deposit is due within one week of receiving the invoice to secure your booking. The remaining sum is due 30 days before the performance. Cancellation Terms For cancellations within 30 days of the performance 50% of the fee will be due. For cancellations within 7 days of the performance the full fee is due. Deposits are non-refundable to cover lost business and administrative work. Any arranging and recording work undertaken will still need to be paid for in the event of cancellation. If COVID-19 or the restrictions resulting from it prevent Christine from performing on the agreed date then she can postpone to a new available date at no extra cost. An additional deposit may be required to hold a second date but this will be deducted from the total price. If it is not possible to negotiate a new date then a full or partial refund may be agreed depending on the amount of work that Christine has undertaken in preparation for the performance (i.e learning special requests, recording, administration) Changes to Package After Booking The agreed price cannot be reduced after booking if you wish to reduce your package.
